Training

We work with schools, employers, health care professionals, social service providers, and other business owners statewide to help them create non-discriminatory environments through interactive, fun, educational transgender trainings. Sometimes we're asked to do a training because an employee is transitioning on the job. Other times, because a client or customer has filed a discrimination complaint. Our best trainings, though, are the ones that are initiated simply by a desire to be prepared in case any transgender related issues arise or to prevent discrimination before it can happen.

Our workshops range from one to three hours and cover a variety of topics, including: basic terminology, assumptions and stereotypes, legal duties, tips for working with transgender clients and co-workers, and hypothetical exercises. We incorporate proven educational techniques including small group tasks, discussion, question and answer, and lecture.

Our trainings are provided on a sliding scale basis and are often provided free of charge to qualifying partners. When trainings occur outside of the Bay Area, we often ask the partnering business or agency to cover travel costs. If your company or organization would like more information about having us come do a training, please call us at (415) 865-0176 or email us.
